A Klaudie Bartelink documentary in co-production with Learning By Action. 22 September 1914. Three colossal English cruisers with 2297 members of the reserve forces and some very young naval cadets onboard are sailing unprotected off the Scheveningen coast. They are taken completely by surprise by a new, hardly known and devastating weapon: the German U Boat. This film tells the story of one of the worst ship disasters in world history that took place off our coast and which, surprisingly enough, seems forgotten.
